iPad is a slate device launched by Apple which looks just like large Apple's iPhone or ipod Touch.It has 9.7 inch LCD touch-screen and weighs1.5 lbs and its battery life is 10 hours.720 HP video can be played in it.Its screen resolution is 1024x768.Its price starts from $499.

All the Application that works in Apple's iPhone can be used here too which includes iTunes, Safari, compass, email,you tube and photo gallery and addition with new applications like iWork and iBook.iBook's design is just like that of a real book-shelf from where books can be chosen.

Its common features with iPhone and iPod touch is that it has same finger friendly screen,onscreen keyboard,inbuilt wi-fi antenna(802.11 a/b/g/n),volume locker,VGA Adaptor, a mute button,a home button,oleophobic coating, 30 pin dock connector and it automatically detects if device is in portrait or landscape mode.16 GB, 32 GB and 64GB iPad will be available in market.Apple has upcoming plan to launch iPad with 3G support as well which will weigh 2.5 lbs.

Accesories that comes with iPad are a dock with attached keyboard so that you dont have to be fully dependent on QWERTY keyboard, a standard dock , and a cool case.

Few drawbacks of iPad is that it doesn't support flash and has no optical drive.It doesn't even have an USB port which makes printing of iwork docs impossible.It lacks a camera like iPhone has. So it wont be making full use of 3G technology.It would have been better if it atleast had a webcamera.

With so many attractive features and few drawbacks there is possibility of iPad being used by many geeks.
